Samsung PS43D450 plasma TV that does not turn on

    Hi there,

Got a Samsung PS43D450 plasma TV that does not turn on.

    - The red led from standby blinks 2 times a second.

    - open the back and there“s a clicking sound, the green led on the T-con blinks 2 times every second.
This happens for about 30 seconds and then stops clicking and blinking.
The power board reads Va 0v Vs 0v

    - When unplugged the X-main from the Y-sus board, the symptoms remain the same.

    - When I unplugged the Y-sus board from the power board and the T-con the symptoms are:
green led flashing every second but no clicking sound and the power board reads Va 58v , Vs 207v .

    - I remove the Y-sus board from the TV and check with a DMM in diode mode and the board has short between VS and GND.

    Y-sus are faulty, right?

    PS: sorry for my english.

If you disconnect the Upper buffer Bd. and the Lower buffer Bd. is the short on the Y-main still there? If NO then the Upper or Lower Buffer Bd has a short. If YES then the IGBTs on the Y-Main are shorting. Your PSU seems OK and Main Bd seems OK.

Yes. It could be your y buffer board.

Looks like the ysus main is the problem. It reads shorted. I have a PS51 looking at now same problem. Front led was 2 blinks x 5 times repeat.

Hi, thank you all for your replies.
          So,
I buy a Y-Sus board and when I replace it I have to put all the screws of Ysus and X boards before plug the power cable to avoid new short.

Good news, the Tv works now.

Bad news: 5 black horizontal lines appear on screen below the center.

So, I disconnect the flat cables of the Upper Buffer Board and clean them and now have only one black line with about 4 mm.
Made this several times but still the same line.

Wonder if it is the buffer board.

Is this single line below the half way point on the screen? If yes then clean the LOWER buffer Bd. cable at both ends and see if the helped. If not then the lower buffer Bd. may be faulty

I check the upper board with dmm and has no shorts, now I look closer and its only one line of pixels (points) with 1 mm in all the screen I will put images here.

Clean also the X-Main Bd FFC to the Panel. Be very gentle and careful. Look again at the Main cables and see if any damage to the FFCs

Looks fatter than the one in post #7. Inspect particularly the little gold fingers for deformation or breaks and gum.

After cleaning all cables and buffer boards doesnt solved the problem of the line, I did a test pattern and the line still there as I will show on this pictures:

You need as the others have suggested to ensure that the cable end is clean and that the gold contacts at the end have not lifted or been damaged in any way and carefully reseat the ribbon. Sometimes people have to do this operation several times.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Thank you, I had researched and got the idea that if the line appeared during the test pattern that the panel would be faulty.

Now I will persist in the ribbons again.

                            Thank you
Finally I did, the horizontal line no longer appears.
I clean all the cables and boards with contact cleaner spray and put all the cables accurately and resolved.
                            Then I had to use the following values: vs = 213 vsc = - 200 because of a pink spot and I have va = 58 ve = 90.

But I can not update the software and have already tried with two USB pen.
The tv as version 1006.1 and at Samsung site theres a 1029.0 version.

I was able to install the latest version of the software.

The first file I was trying to install was not the "OS" file, but the "language" file.

OK, now I have my TV repaired

Thank you all for your help.
