Good day folks. Some advice is required on this Samsung UE32eh4003 telly: the LED blinks 5 times then goes off before blinking 5 times again and so on. Since the power supply checks fine and the backlight comes on without the main board connected, I turned my attention to the firmware: there's two chips on the board IC901 and IC801. IC901 is an S24c25 EEPROM and IC801 is a Winbond 25q40BV.
I DID manage to find some files for it and I started off with the Winbond chip. Now here's the weird part: my programmer detects the Winbond chip as a Nexflash....that alone smells iffy to me and I already ordered some new chips to try out. I AM able to read and write stuff to it even with this little quirk, but I'm not sure it's the right way to do it, plus the TV doesn't turn on even after multiple files I tried writing to it. I then read on a local forum that a chap got it going by flashing the other chip instead (the S24C25), so I removed it, no funny side effects this time, wrote the BIN I found for it on the same forum, but still no luck....question is, could the Winbond chip be at fault here, given that it's detected as something else ? I ordered BOTH chips just to be safe, so I can hopefully do a "fresh" install with new chips, since they're getting pretty beat up at this point, having been removed 4-5 times.
I get 3.3v on both chips' VCC pins, so I think the power supply section is fine. Has anyone encountered these issues before ? Cheers.
