    Insignia NS-37D20SNA14 worth fixing?

    Hello,

I have an NS-37D20SNA14 that's here for repair. I've researched this TV a bit and was wondering if you guys thought it was worth repairing. I know there's known issues with the LED backlighting and tearing apart the screen and resoldering the LEDs can fix this, but my understanding is there are also issues with how the power supply is designed.

I suspect the PSU needs repair on this. The red standby light is having a hard time lighting up and the TV doesn't even begin to turn on. Before I attempt to diagnose this anymore or attempt to repair it, I wanted to know if you guys thought if the PSU was bad, would the fix hold?

From what I've read, people repaired the power supply just to have it break again in 3 months or so. The caps are really cheap and need replacing, but I think the main problem might be with the mosfets and how they're cooled.

I've attached some photos of the PSU just in case you're interested in seeing what it looks like.

    Thanks!

Asus TUF Gaming F15? Is this worth fixing? PCH WARM
    by iamwise
Hi all, I picked up a liquid damaged Asus TUF Gaming F15, does not power on, model FX506HM-HN004T.

Ive gone as far as removing the case and doing a visual check, there is no visible corrision, upon plugging in the power brick a single led light shows that power is plugged in, but no display or fans, the PCH chipset gets warm/hot to the touch, could this mean its not fixable or do I proceed and remove the motherboard completely and check further for shorts etc, failing that should I just take it to a service centre and go from there

what would you do? my skillset is...

Denon AVR 1908, High pitch noise on Surround back Left channel after long overhaul

    Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
    by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

Lenovo ideapad 700-15ISK turns on, no display: boot up normally after the third or fourth attempt
    by xenotic
Hello, hoping someone can help me with this.

I've had this laptop for about 3 years. Lenovo-Ideapad-700-15ISK-i5-6300HQ

a few months ago I've started experiencing this issue where I'd press the power button, everything would start up,
keyboard lit up, fans start spinning etc., but the screen remained black. I would then power off the machine by holding the power button for a couple seconds, and try again. It would boot up normally after the third or fourth attempt. . maybe a corrupt BIOS problem ?

Lenovo Thinkpad T14s gen2i (NM-D362) not starting up after wifi upgrade attempt.

After attempting to upgrade the soldered 1216 Wifi module my motherboard no longer turns on. The board works before the upgrade attempt so that would certainly mean some components got knocked off accidentally but I can not find any missing components. I have thoroughly checked the whole board multiple times so lets do some tests from scratch.

    Things that currently work:
    • USB-C PD for 20V
    • Battery charging
    • VCC5M and VCC5_PD
    • VCC3M
    • VCCPCHCORE (1.8V)
I have checked and verified that PWRSWITCH has 3.3V and goes low when pressing the power button. This is measured at the JCAM1 connector....
