    Yes, glad you could save it! Is is a "bodge" not a repair really, so most of us don't want to encourage the practice. Who knows how long before the screen fails further. It works for only certain models with certain problems...

    BTW, it's not jut Sony. LG uses the exact same panels in some of their models too.

      After some thought, I don't feel safe using the TV for extended periods of time, especially when I'm not home and the kids are watching, so Ill replace it soon.

      I'm still perplexed how people like this youtube user, had the same problem that went away, when its obviously a panel issue.

      Since Ill be throwing it out soon, is there any point opening the TV any further exposing where the ribbons attach to the panel to see if anythings loose?

        Don't think there is a safety issue involved with repair. It would be more an issue if you fixed it with tape and then sold it as good tv.
        I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

          I agree. Not a safety issue at all. just can't sell it as a good tv. No point in further disassembly either.
