    Samsung PN60E530A3F red sparkles

This TV was given to me by my father. He said that the TV just wouldn't turn on one day. Didn't want to spend the money fixing it and bought a new TV. It had a great picture when working and thought I could learn something along the way by trying to repair it. After doing a great deal of research on this fantastic forum thought I would give it a go. I noticed that when I tried to power the tv on that it had sound but no picture. I disconnected the Y-main connector and ribbon cable and when I powered the TV on I got the Va, Vs and the Ve to remain steady. Vs was 211v, Va was 57v and Ve was around 15.5v and got the led to blink every second. I replaced the IC on the Y-main at location U5014. P/n 3BR0665JZ and the three small blue caps marked 106 at location c5046, c5160 and c5162 that were on either side of the IC I replaced. I saw that on previous posts that had fixed this no picture but sound issue. The Vs, Va, Vsc and Ve all came up to spec and then dropped off. From what I have read the ERC is still detecting a fault. Noticed that the light was two seconds on and maybe five seconds off. So I thought I would go ahead and replace all the small blue caps marked 106 with new electrolytic 10uf 50v caps except one in the middle of the board that I couldn't determine which way the negitive should go. After pulling each one off and replacing it I found one that I couldn't get a capacitance reading with my multimeter. I replaced the center blue cap with the highest capacitance reading out of all of them. It read 9.38uf. Put the Y-main back in and the thing powered up and got a picture but had the reddish/ sparkle issue. Found my Vs and Ve were a little off so I adjusted them to within .2 volts as you had recommended in the stickie on troubleshooting plasma tvs. No help. Thought maybe what had affected the Y-main may have caused an issue with the X-main. I know this is the shotgun method but I replaced it with a know good X-main from shopjimmy but still had the same issue. The voltages are all with .1 of the label. I'm at a loss and need some guidance. Sorry for the rambling I just wanted to give you all the info.

Also checked Vscan voltage and its 15.1v. Its marked 15v on the Y-main board. Thank you for any assistance.

Last night I removed both upper and lower Y buffers and tested between svc_outh and svc_outl and on both I got a high resistance both ways. They appear to be okay. Visually no holes or defects in the ICs and all other components appear to be good on both boards. Just sorting through with what little I know to check.

Tried adjusting Vs from 211v to 221 and then back down to 201 with no help. Readjusted back to 211v. I would appreshiate any guidance. Not sure what to check next.

            Thanks,
            Kevin

looks like LVDS cables to me from board to TCON but not real well versed with buffer boards...

Most often you can connect and disconnect the TCON cables to fix an issue like this. I have seen some instances where the HDMI chip on board is the culprit and could very well be the issue.

Beyond this I am not sure just a shot at helping. Try checking all your cable connections make sure they are good reset them after taking each one off.

Sometimes you can use an HDMI to VGA adapter to get around this issue grab video from VGA and output to HDMI or just use HDMI and audio cable straight to device if possible. If that works chances are quite possibly your HDMI chip is bad.
