Hello all. I am having trouble with a Samsung DLP (model number in thread title) The pictured is "shadowed", for lack of a better term. The view is fine In the lower left 3/4 of the screen. In the entire top and right sides, the picture is there, just shadowed. I have opened and examined the entire optical block, and don't see any mirrors out of place, or visibly dislodged. Attached are some pictures for your reference. I am REALLY hoping someone has encountered this before and knows of a fix. I should add that someone has been in here befohttps://www.badcaps.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=132101&stc=1&d=1461084 171re me. There were a couple of screws missing here and there. If anyone has ever seen this, PLEASE let me know. I'm stumped.

Re: Please help! Samsung HL67A750
I don't have an answer but please post some pictures with known test patterns (eg. color bars, contrast density or equivalent). My initial guess is a power supply issue such that the leds are not reaching full brightness during "picture creation" / frame. Could be either a timing issue or voltage problem.

Re: Please help! Samsung HL67A750
After further thought and search, this is likely your problem (taken from avsforum).
"After much research on the net, I came to the conclusion the only fix for the Samsung shadow issue was a replacement light engine. I can now say that there is another possibility, a simple adjustment that in my case took only 15 minutes and not only eliminated the 3" wide shadow I had, but improved the picture quality as well. The technician compared it to dialing in the scope on a rifle. Simply loosened off the mounting screws of the "mirror-Light tunnel assembly", moved it downward slightly and retightened. Connected it back up and better then new. He did say it can require a couple of attempts in some cases but mine was the 2nd he had successfully done today. Anyone who is out of warranty, by all means try it. The assembly I am referring to consists of items 16 thru 21 of the L680 Engine assembly from my 6178. "
Basically, it looks like an alignment issue with the light tunnel versus the chip. The above was taken from a different type of set. It appears that there are adjustments built into the hl67a750 and hl61a750. See this ... http://www.avsforum.com/forum/63-rea...l#post19268767. Hopefully, you can adjust the problem away... if the adjusters haven't already been "bunged".Last edited by budwich; 04-20-2016, 07:04 AM.
