    Using a 42" TNPA5105 from TX-P42S20B in a TX-P50S20B 50" set.....

Its definitely Possible! I have a 50" set that's given me headaches with a buggered 5105 for a while. A few days ago, I got in a 42" set TX-42S20B that had a cracked PDP, but its TNPA5105 checked without shorts....

Decided--What the hell, Change over, make it compatible. Checked over the boards, the same devices used in each and every place heatsink semi wise, so the ERC parts changed over along with the third VSUS Decoupling-Cap that the the 50" board uses.

The ERC Circuits have different time-constants and capacity due to the larger PDP capacitance of the 50" screen so these parts needed changing over.

To do this, the Coils and Capacitors of the ERC circuit need to be changed over, the extra electrolytic 200uF 220V added from the 50" board (AB) to the 42" (AD) boards.

The 42" has only two large blue film caps in the ERC, the 50" (AB) has three.
--I noticed the AB board (50") the caps were same value--but physically smaller for some reason.
--I changed all three into from the AB into the AD board.

The Inductors and their placement are also different, the 42 (AD) has ones marked 1, while the 50 (AB) has ones marked .8 I assume this is uH....

I followed the placement of the inductors duplicating into the 42" AD from the 50 inch board.

Board fitted to the 50" and fired up with The Bulb in series with VSUS supply(150W 240V globe-lamp)

Set ran and bulb glowed slightly, brightening somewhat with picture brightness increase that lead to the VSUS collapsing somewhat and giving a rather pinkish mal-discharge picture.

I tuned in the DTV, set continued to work--Went to make a cuppa--set still on when I returned, nothing got overly hot, so removed The Bulb and soldered the connections direct from PSU to SC.

The set has now run well for a few days. Only observation I made was that I had forgotten Just How HOT these SC run because of their tiny heatsinks...

TOSHIBA DLP 52HM95 How to reset timer module on bulb
    by repair-it
I replaced the bulb only on my Toshiba DLP The bulb is a TB-25. This is the first time I've done a bulb only replacement. Supposedly there is a timer module that needs to be re-calibrated or reset. I don't know where the module is located. I see some vendors selling the bulb with the housing stating module included which leads me to think the module is located inside the enclosure the bulb mounts in, but I didn't see it. Maybe it's inside the plug attached to the bulb?

Anyway - I am seeking information on how to reset this so called module so that the lamp will operate. Apparently...

    LUMIMAN Smart Bulb IC ID?
    by ezenia
    Hi,

I have a LUMIMAN Smart Bulb that suddenly stopped lighting one day. The bulb is still detected in the app, but won't light. I've probed around and nothing seems to look off with any of the diodes, caps or resistors. The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi module seems to be working as it's still detected in the app. I even tried deleting and re-pairing the bulb (it didn't light, but I was still able to follow the pairing instructions), it re-paired fine, but still no light.

In diode mode, the LEDs all light up when probed so I'm guessing this means the LEDs themselves are OK. I was expecting...

Replacing incandescent bulb on Pioneer LD player with led. Need help :)
    by JimBanville
I have a pioneer dvl-909 LD/dvd player from 1998. It has a light on the front panel that lights up when you play a dvd. I removed the bulb and it appears to be a tiny incandescent bulb. Its measures "open"/dead and the bulb is black like it's blown. The socket it fits into measures 5v. I've looked up the schematics and there's no indication of the amperage. I don't want to spend any money on new parts, but I have a pack of like 100, 3v, 20ma LEDs and I have various resistors.
Is there a way for me to determine the amperage going to the old dead bulb with my multimeter?

Panasonic TC-P42S60 Plasma, how to check Vsus
    by Buzztv
    Hi,
This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments....
