I have a samsung lj92-01688a board that is physically blown (appears to be a blown surface mount diode) and VS and Ground are shorted. I was debating attempting to replace all caps and components on the Heatsink as another thread on the inter webs did to fix their issue.
However the the explanation to the question
This board is very hard to find but there are other x-main boards that almost exact (similar models). The PCB looks exact other than it has On more Poly Film Capacitor and has one more additional common connector to the plasma. the boards difference is that it drives a 1080p panel instead of a 720p (the board I have that is blown).
The Question
Looking at the boards I am wondering if I could use the 1080p xmain board (there a many available online) and use it in place of the 720 xmain board? It appears there will be extra power abilities but the 720 panel will have what it needs?
The concern.
Being that this board can provide more Xmain BUS connectivity to the plasma will this also require more juice from the source? and if so this could damage.
The alternative..
Could I remove the components to match the original 720 xmain? board? I am going off of a lack of theory and logic but wanted to see what other experienced techs here think.
Thanks
