    Samsung HPS5053

This is a plasma set that originally powered on and had a nice picture. The only thing wrong was it had a thin red vertical line down the far right side of the screen. While troubleshooting I re-landed a ribbon back to the ZSUS while the set was powered on. Bad move! This caused an arc that blew 4 zener diodes on the lower part of the ZSUS board. I've replaced the zeners and now have nothing. Sounds like the set is on (minor buzzing on the SUS boards) but no picture or sound. Although the sound may just be a setting in the menu as I have pressed many buttons on the remote without be able to see the screen. So I am wondering if there is any other things I can check.
    Thanks.

    Re: Samsung HPS5053

Why do it while powered on ? I dont get why people do that its never a good idea even for testing. I repaired the same set with them diodes blown, I ended up polarising them wrong by accident , so check they are polarised properly. Also even still the red bar is a panel failure which is not actually fixable

Samsung UN39EH5003FXZA won't stay powered off
        by Hannibal_Hector
        Hello,

Purchased a broken Samsung UN39EH5003FXZA (Version CD01) to have fun fixing. When I first acquired it, I did not connect any video signals and only plugged it into the wall. The unit booted and showed the “no signal” window and I could navigate all menus and change sources. I unplugged it, connected my over-the-air antenna to the coax, powered it on, got the unit to scan the HDTV channels, and I think then the TV self-shutdown with the melody. When I powered back up (melody), it would show the channel selected on the OSD and after a couple of seconds, it self-shutdown...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
        by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Samsung stooping to a new low
        by brucetv
Well, just snapped the back on another piece of crap less than 2 year old Samsung after giving the customer the bad news that the lower panel driver boards have so many shorts its not recoverable. Now if your tv takes even a subtle surge it not only takes out part of your main board/tcon board it keeps on going right into those lower panel driver boards and the customer doesn't want to pay my hourly fee to find shorted caps in parallel, fried resistors, and shorted diodes. We really started to see them roll in like this in the KS,MU,NU, RU, and now QN series Samsung's it seems they are deliberately...

Samsung PN64H5000 clicking when powered, then stuck in standby
        by meeotch
My PN64H5000 shut itself off/on/off a few times in succession last night, then refused to turn on again. When I first plug it in, I get five clicks coming from the power board, and the red standby light on the front goes on and off, as does the little green LED on the logic board. After that, the red standby light comes on after a couple of seconds and stays lit, but the TV will not power on. Confirmed by leaving it unplugged overnight.

I opened it up, and didn't see any bulging caps, burnt PCBs, or anything else obvious. Tested the two fuses I saw on the power board (one removable,...
