Need new bulb for Samsung HL-P5685W DLP

For the first time, my parents' TV turned off and flashed the "Bulb warning" icon. It powered right back up but I assume the bulb is on its way out. It's the original one! Just turned 11 years old this month.

The only thing I'm worried about, is buying a cheap crappy knock off since there are so many on amazon/eBay. They don't want to buy a used one.

Does any one have a good experience with any online sellers, with a decent price? Thank you

Okay so I got the new bulb in the mail and waited till the holiday season to put it in. The TV manual says that the new lamp has to have the same exact lamp code. The new bulb looks completely identical but the lamp codes are different. Is this going to be an issue?

Also, this thing has NEVER been pulled apart to be cleaned. Upon taking it apart you can see that there is a lot of dust in the TV. How big of a deal is it that there is dust in there? We don't want to get any of the dust on the place where the bulb shines in to the unit, but also think that while dusting it, it will get all over the place and maybe get where it isn't supposed to be.

The lamp code on the new bulb box matches with the old one, but the code on the actual bulb doesn't. Just want to make sure before we try it out.

Also, I can't believe there are CapXon and Samwha all over the mainboard. How have they not failed?!

Ended up just cleaning the dust carefully with a wet cloth around the rubber seal and some of the plastic. Put the bulb in and it came up like normal.

But...WOW what an amazing difference it made. The original 11 year old bulb did an amazing job of lasting but it was getting dull. The new bulb brought the brightness and colors back to life with this set.

With the old bulb the contrast was set to 79/100 and brightness at 55/100 which then looked way too washed out with the new bulb. Now at 62/100 contrast and 46/100 brightness it still looks a lot brighter than before and the picture is noticeably better.

The old one is now a spare.
