Hello everyone! Well I have been in a repair nightmare with my 1 year old (as of last month and now out of warranty) Samsung 65" UN65H7100AFXZA.
Issue:
- Backlights are on without question / all lit even
- LCD is displaying black with lights on
- I get 6 blinks, but per search, this may not mean anything
- I do get sound (well did prior to switching main boards.. may be another issue with this board)
What I have done so far:
- I searched and came up with the idea it was the T-con board. I removed it, check the fuse on it and all was good. Ordered up another for $25 and installed it. Issue still persists
- At a total loss, I went ahead and ordered in a main board which just came in today. Installed it... same exact thing but now - no sound
- I remove the smps and went over it in detail, testing every cap and diode on the front. Have not checked voltages yet out of the smps
- Mainboard seems to have power, fiber optic port is lit
- T-con seems to have power, blue LED is on
I know nothing about TV's so this is all new to me. More than capable with testing. Any advice from the solder slingers on here?
This is my first Samsung TV.. and per searching seems they have quite a few issues... I only watch movies and occasional netflix so I am totally blown away that this set has failed just outside of warranty! Leaves one with a sick feeling in their gut after shelling out a large amount of hard earned cash.
