No video on cheap 32" Seiki SE322FS LCD

I had worked on one just like it very recently that had the common issue where the blue power light would come after pressing the power button, but the nothing would actually happen on the screen (no backlight, no video). Replacing the power supply board didn't fix this set however, nor did replacing the mainboard .

There's not exactly a whole lot else to replace inside of these models - is there anything else that could be the culprit (beside the panel)? Is there a way to check to see if I got a bum replacement power supply or mainboard?

Why are you throwing boards at a tv spend time diagnosing it. Can you turn it on bring up and image then shine a torch on the screen to see if the lcd is working but backlight isnt ?
Edit: Also see if you get sound btw.

I did do that during the initial diagnosis and could not see any image underneath. This isn't my set, so I don't know which source it's on (or how to change sources blind), so I can't tell if there is sound or not.

          Happy ending... kind of

Just to follow up, we never did find a solution for this; It appears to be another case of spontaneously bad panel (or maybe bad backlight). The happy ending is that we were able to finally sell it as-is on behalf of the owner in order to pursue other options.
