    Re: LG 50PK590 No Display

You know those "I have the same problem" posts, well this might be one:

My 50PK590 has a completely dead screen. The original problem was that when powered up I could hear the click from the power board and could see that the optical out lit up, but the screen didn't come on (initially there was sound, but that's gone too).

What I did (in my amateurish way):
    1. Replaced the large resistors on the power board
    2. Had independent confirmation that the power board is working
    3. Replaced the Z-SUS board
    4. Replaced the logic board
    5. Put the logic board into auto-gen by putting a shorting jumper in and removing the signal input cable

Even after step 5, the screen was completely blank. After letting it run for a few minutes, I checked the heat sinks on all board and found that the Z-SUS board was stone cold. This is where it got interesting ...

I swapped back the original Z-SUS board and when I applied power it started smoking. I cut the power and removed the board. There's now an L-shaped discolouration across the top and down the right-hand side (looking from underneath).

    So ... Help!

Anyone have any idea where the fault might lay?
