I know this thread is old, but I wanted to provide the missing link that I was able to obtain by finding the Service Manual to my tv - KDL-55HX800 - which provided schematic diagrams plus more. Hence, I'm attaching the pics of the HLR board, and a close up of the PINs diagram. I clipped the 11th pin, and reconnected to the HLR board. The 7 red blinking lights gone! TV & remote work perfectly. NOTE: I believe that my TV had issues prior to this fix, and I DID replace the BAL board prior to clipping pin 11. Could be that the temp heat error code fried something in the BAL board. Don't know. Just went about repairs with one board at a time. Hope this helps someone else too.
Thanks everyone for this post. Picked up a free KDL-55EX711 with 7 flashes, thinking I would just bake the main board like a couple previous models. Sure enough, I unhooked the HLR connector and it fired right up. I ended up just pulling pins 11 and 12 from the harness connector and taped them off. With just 11 out, it still wouldn't power up. I always turn of auto settings anyway, so the sensor would be useless to me.

      Re: Sony HLR board ??

Thank you All.Sorted this Sony 7blink problem with your help !
      Can someone help with this-
I have got a Sony BDV E370 bluray home theatre system - currently the eject tray will only operate after switching off the player ! There is no demo mode or locked indication.Otherwise
all is well. But if I have to eject a disc or insert when the player is on , I have to first switch it off via the remote or the front panel button, then I need to press the load/eject button (front or remote) tray works and player switches on - thats it - if I try to operate the eject function again the remote eject button or panel eject button will not work till I power it down.
      Any help would be appreciated.
      Thank you

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

          Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
          by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
          CN6401
          Pin 01 NC
          Pin 02 NC
          Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
          Pin 04 "N/C"
          Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
          Pin 06 "GND": N/C
          Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Sony Vaio SVS MBX-261 board failure
          by delpiero3
Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...

Sony KDL-40Z4500 LCD with stripes and 9 blinks (possible BGC board or harness problem
          by huj3r
          Hi there!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

          > This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication...

A1312 (27” iMac 2009-2011) A1407 (Thunderbolt Display) A1316 (Cinema Display) Display Black Screen Repair

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
