as above picture i purchased from a cash generator in a job lot of tvs. it had on the description on this as tv overheating. i opened the back and found a few bulging caps on the PSU so i replaced those. i started up tv and tuned it into freeview etc and it was running fine however around 15 minutes later i started noticing alot of dots flashing and twinkling on the picture, and also looks as if the contrast is turning up, what could be at fault ?

Re: Faulty Samsung PS42Q96HD
Almost anything!!
Have you tried to heat up things to see if you can trigger the fault?
Have you checked if the power supply and sustain voltages are stable? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Faulty Samsung PS42Q96HD
Just measure voltages periodically, Vs, Va, Vsc, Ve, and see if any drop or change as the set falters. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Faulty Samsung PS42Q96HD
Tighten all the screws of the power devices on Y-SUS and X-SUS....
They Always work loose on these, leaving the heatsinks cool and the devices themselves very hot.
After tightening--the heatsinks then get hot--like they should....TELEFIX
How PLASMA SCREENS WORK, X-SUS and Y-SUS what they do--
