I would like to fix this myself but have limited experience with this sort of thing. can read a meter and have patience. That said tv has no video or audio. after pushing power button can hear 3 sets of relay clicks from power supply, standby led goes from red to blue. and Va voltage starts low and quickly deteriorates to zero no voltage recorded on Vs or vscan .I found shorted y buffer and replaced. Any advice to help isolate bad components would be helpful .thanks in advance.

Re: s42ax-yb09 no audio no video
Hmm--It would have been better if you had titled the thread with the Make and Model number--rather than the PDP Glass number.
Looks like a Samsung PS-42C450--but cant tell as the pictures will not enlarge.....
I expect you have shorts on the IGBT's of either the Y-SUS, X-SUS or (On That model set) Both!TELEFIX
How PLASMA SCREENS WORK, X-SUS and Y-SUS what they do--

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.
The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...2 Photos -
by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

by ItepKHey everyone!
I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.
This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.
When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.
I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:
- On the P11 connector, there is 15V DC only for a brief moment, then it goes

by SolarFlareHi,
My barely 3 year old TV has stopped displaying video, although the video output comes for a few seconds after turning ON which displays the manufacturers logo then shows the home screen (all this with some blue flicker) then the video goes blank and the screen is dark blue with the backlight on. The audio output works perfectly and the TV also takes in voice commands(smart TV).
The TCON board has the following Chips -
Samsung VTU63A0
RT6939 - 2nos.
and all these chips are getting real hot within a minute, I dont know if this is normal.... - Loading...
