successful CMO panel swap JVC to Samsung

hey all just wanted to let everyone know that I just successfully swapped a panel into a Samsung LN46B530.

I found this TV on Craigslist 450 bucks knowing I was taking a gamble but I figured what do I have to lose. I had this good brand new panel sitting around the house for a while that was for a JVC LT-46AM73. it seems like it's only 46 inch JVC LCD ever made. Well anyways the panel is a 60 Hertz 1080p panel and the Samsung used a 1080 P 60 Hertz panel also. Knowing that I'll never find a JVC TV with a cracked screen because they seem to be super rare I took the panel out of the frame and retrofitted it into the Samsung frame. They both use different t-con board and I couldn't just swap the tcon over to the new panel I had to use the JVC tcon. it was a trick making the ribbons fit I had to do it some cutting on the plastic shell but as soon as I got everything to fit and fit the ribbons in I had to get crafty to make the t-con board fit on the back of the Samsung metal frame after I did that I powered it up and it works great.

on a side note I should add that the original Samsung panel was a CMO using side tabs this JVC panel which is also a CMO does not have side tabs however the LVDS cable fit perfectly and I did some research between the two panels and found out that the voltage is seem the same so just wanted to add that this swap worked. I'm still surprised myself.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
    by howardc64
    • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
    • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
    • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
    • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
    • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
    by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

    tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
    by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...

    Samsung GU50TU8079U bad panel diagnosis
    by Ierwin
    Hello,

I was given this Samsung GU50TU8079U that would power cycle after a couple seconds, sometimes a few minutes. The screen would turned cloudy dark with the backlight still lit and then the sytem would restart.
Its one of the newer screwless Samsung models that I read a lot about panel failures here. It does not have a sperate T-CON board, just one ribon from the mainboard to the panel board and a U-shaped ribbon cable connecting the other half.
I went through the usual diagnostics:
unplugged the mainboard -> tv stayed on
    removed the U-Shape robbon ->...
