Samsung PS42A456, no initialise no pic Vs, Va OK, --repaired.

Set has sound but no picture, Vs and Va correct, no fuses failed, no IGBT's etc short.

Fault is no VSCAN supply. A check from the VSCAN test-point to deck showed 3 ohms....

Diode (D5015) at the edge of the Y-SUS board just by VSCAN transformer, a UF4007 was S/C.

Replacement cured the problem.

Just Like to say thanks to Alastair E for this post.
Had the same problem same TV same board.
Set has sound but no picture, Vs and Va correct, no fuses failed, no IGBT's etc short.
Fooled me for a while then I read your post and found D5014 at edge of transformer was indeed short. Thats all that was wrong and once replaced like your set working fine again.
So thanks for you posting this post when we were 5 years younger saved me a lot of time!
