Hi folks,
Background - Mother's TV. Screen died. She took it to LG repairer who (probably) replaced some / all boards. 2 weeks after returning the picture dies again. She returns it, repairer said they can no longer get the parts, refunds the payment, I get the TV.
I have been lurking around and thought I would finally ask the question. I have read through the threads and tom66's guides but I can't quite nail it. Here is the info:
PDP42V7 06A2
ZSUS - 6871QZH0418
YSUS - 6871QYH036D
Pictures attached.
Power seems ok. Correct power found on board, and at connectors when connected to YSUS and ZSUS.
YSUS and ZSUS connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV stays on
YSUS and ZSUS not connected - No Picture, Yes Sound, TV stays on
YSUS only connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV stays on
ZSUS only connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV returns to Standby after a couple of seconds
YSUS and ZSUS connected, Y Buffer Both connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV stays on
YSUS and ZSUS connected, Y Buffer Upper only connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV stays on
YSUS and ZSUS connected, Y Buffer Lower only connected - No Picture, No Sound, TV stays on
YSUS Heatsink gets hot, ZSUS Heatsink does not
Fuses on YSUS - 188.6v OK, 5.2v OK is there a 66V one?
Fuses on ZSUS - 188.4v OK, 66Vv OK, 5.2v OK
On CTRL the power LED's are all showing red except the 3.4v on the far right, which has a little bit of Green showing. Possibly just the LED faulty? There is 3.4V at the connector.
No caps seem popped.
I removed the YSUS last night and used DMM to check the IPM as per other posts. Tested correctly as per posts (Gnd - Sus both directions correct, Gnd- Vs both directions correct, Sus-Vs both directions correct)
Am I heading in the right direction?
Can I test the ZSUS ?
Is the cold heatsink on the ZSUS a hint?
Any help or suggestions would be fantastic.
A thank you in advance to everyone who reads and takes the time to reply. A great forum with some very smart and helpful people.
Thanks
P.S. I tried uploading a number of photo's but there was an error. I'll split them and post in a reply.
