Could you supply a picture of the fault? Have you installed a new main board in the TV?

Bingo... the 50HP66 board is for a 1365x768 panel, whereas your 42HP66 TV has a 1024x768 panel. You need to install the board for a 42HP66. As far as I am aware it is not possible to change the panel setting for the board.

You could try swapping the EEPROMs over but personally I would just send the board back. The seller probably thinks they are compatible, but they are not.

Here is the update; I replace both the main board and the scaler with the 55hp66 parts. I put the old scaler 42hp66 back because my main issue was a bad main board not the scaler. And now is working just fine with the 55hp66 main board!

I think the 'scaler' he's referring to is the main board. And the 'main' he's referring to is the input board.
I have a couple of these Toshiba's on hand for testing purposes. The main is the same one in an LG 42PC3D and many other brands. Made by LG. Basically, everything in the TV is LG except for the input board.
