    Samsung LN40A530P1F whites tinted yellow/grey

I've got a Samsung LN40A530P1F here that originally wouldn't power up, I've replaced all the bad caps in the power supply and it powers up fine, but there is a yellowish/grey tint to the picture. I've tried adjusting settings but I can't get rid of the tint, it's not horrible and the picture is watchable, but it's definitely there.

I'm suspecting the T-con board is the cause, I've taken these readings:

    1-14.77
    2-13.78
    3-11.53
    4-11.10
    5-10.70
    6-10.45
    7-10.33
    8-10.28
    9-8.85
    10-6.25
    11-5.39
    12-5.17
    13-4.77
    14-4.14
    15-3.53
    16-3.19
    17-1.31
    18-0.317

Am I correct in thinking these reading are bad?

The T-con doesn't have the AS15 chip that seems to fail so often.

    Thanks

    Bump..

Can anyone confirm a bad T-con, if it is the T-con which chip is likely the cause

Those readings don't look overtly bad but you'd probably have to have the datasheet of the ic and a control signal to rule it out. Does the ic heat up much ? Maybe try cooling it while running and see if pic changes ? Main board can likely cause this fault as well but I'd wait for someone else to chime in.

Can you show us a picture of how the colouring looks off? Have you tried changing the Colour Temperature from Warm to Cool, or switching the preset from Movie mode?

I've tried changing the colour temperatur settings, it's a little better in cool1 and cool2 than normal. I thought the T-con might be going because of all the voltages around 10V, I thought it was supposed to be a smooth transition from low to high. Maybe it's just the way this panel is, do they ever yellow with age?

I've attached a picture next to my nexus 7 tablet with the same thing displayed, but its hard to capture the way it looks. The picture was taken with the colour temperature set to normal.

Try accessing service menu (from standby: Mute 1 8 2 Power) and see if you can adjust the WHITE BALANCE controls, or R-GAIN/G-GAIN/B-GAIN or R-OFF/G-OFF/B-OFF.
