LG 42PQ10 Plasma.. Buffers Or Display??

I have kind of a general symptom question..

I have an LG 42PQ10 that has a horizontal bar across the lower part of the screen..

I have reseated all the connectors and cellophane connectors with no change..

Is this kind of symptom indicative of a buffer problem or a display problem??

Just wanted to get some input before I put out any $$$ for buffers. ...

    Thanx

That would be a buffer board problem.

      That's awesome!!

Thanx Tom... Buffers aren't that much, but I would hate to put any money into it and it just be a display issue..

      Thanx again..

Remember it's the Y-buffer you want to replace, the one connected to the Y-sustain board, that runs up the left hand side of the panel when looking from the rear of the TV. Replacing the X- or C-buffers will do nothing to fix the problem (these are the ones that run along the bottom of the panel.)

          That makes it even better!

I'll follow up once I get the part in...

          Thanx again..

Just a follow up on this.... It was a long tortuous process that involved two different buffers and a flooded workshop...

Long story short, the buffer was the faulty part and now the TV is up and running..

            Thanx again, tom66
