I have this Samsung LNT 5271F. The symptoms are:
The TV intermittently works perfectly, when it works. Most of the time when powering the TV on, I get perfect audio, no picture, no light on screen. I can see from the back of the TV there is a light (glow) on. Also, the menu screen is not visible at this time.
When the TV works, it will come on perfectly and work perfectly as long as you don't turn the TV off. Once the TV is turned off, it may or may not come on again. I've tried it "N" number of times and most of the time it will not come on correctly.
afterwards, I have tried it after transporting to my home without actually having a connection from a cable or satellite box. when I do this and it works, I get sound (hissing noise) and the screen is lit up with black and white confetti.
Of course it would have worked at that time if it were connected to some input. I cannot find a schematic for the power board IP 351135A. The connector from power board to main board is a narrow 24 pin type connector. there is a 5 pin connector above the 24 pin connector which looks like the control for the backlighting.
Please any info on where to start troubleshooting this one would be appreciated. Also, any help with how to get voltages without shorting something out would be great.
