Hitachi 42pd6600 - mal discharge - image flakey

    Hi All

Picked this Hitachi 42pd6600 up fault being not displaying any input just blue screen

Factory reset got it going again but iv got some issues with the picture

as you can see it goes funny where light and dark meet

not as bad on HD channel but still there

pictures are of a SD channel

Now is it just that's the picture quality or is it something someone has had before

going to go inside now and check for caps and voltages anything else i should look at ?

Very common issue on old Fujitsu/Hitachi panels...

Ive yet to find a cure. Ive managed to duplicate the effect on a Panasonic by lowering the Va but with the Philips and Hitachi sets--nothing is adjustable--No Pots!--All done by the mainboard settings--that you cant access --without the specific service software on a PC...

I dont bother much with those models using that chassis, as they always have That issue--to a lesser or greater degree--Its just the way they are when they get several thousand hours on 'em....
I did get a Philips not so long back off the street that had an almost perfect picture when hot, (After its PSU was repaired) but looked 'rough' when cold, those noisy edges quite apparent...
