    Samsung UN46C8000XF problems. With video.

A friend brought me this today and he's out of warranty. Since this is a 240hz LED high end set, I don't have a clue as to where to even start. Anyone seen this before?

Here's a link to a quick youtube video I made. Sorry, I couldn't embed it because I'm posting this as it's uploading.

I've yet to disassemble due to it's size and the fact that it's not a 24" monitor. I'd like to know if anyone has seen this on one of these 8000 series Samsung panels.

It looks like crosstalk but I don't have a clue where to even start looking. What do you think? Tcon? LVDS cable? SMPS? Mainboard?

Set functions but picture is horrible. Over ghosting, etc. I did factory reset but am not familiar with the service mode so I didn't play with any other settings. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem at this point.

My guess would be LVDS cable. Failing that bad LCD panel (unrepairable) due to tab bonding failure. You may be able to bodge the tab bond repair.

To rule out the main board:

      Put TV into standby
Then on remote press MUTE, 1, 8, 2, and finally POWER.

      Access Control > Test Pattern.

You have three pattern selections (press left/right to move through each pattern, up/down for each generator):
      - FBE Pattern Sel: This is the main board pattern generator, the OSD is added on top.
      - FRC BeforeDDR: This pattern is generated on the t-con before the FRC converts the video (50Hz -> 100Hz, etc.)
      - FRC AfterDDR: This is after the DDR is used to process the video for the FRC.

If the fault exists only on FBE Pattern Sel: main board
If it exists on only the BeforeDDR or AfterDDR: t-con board

Possibly, if you can narrow it down to Before/AfterDDR you could identify exact t-con fault.
