    Toshiba plasma toubleshooting

    Hi All

I'm a new member looking for some help trying to troubleshoot this tv. I have attached a few picture of the screen for you to see. As you can see the screen has alot of blue in the center which should be black. Also when veiwing a live picture I can see flashs or what aapear like linghting in the backround or on light colors. Sometimes it has that lava lamp appeaence as well. I can also see multi colored(rgb) sparkles in the black area of the screen. This set has an LG panel inside (pdp42x32000) which I read can sometimes have issues with mal discharge. Based on another thread I did check the Vs and Va voltages and both seemed good. the Vs was about 1 volt high so I did adjust it down to spec. but not I'm not sure were to go from here and could use some assistance.

    Re: Toshiba plasma toubleshooting

Hi. I am repairing an AKAI PD42X32000 plasma TV, that has both picture and sound BUT the black portions of the picture are covered with red noise. When I turn down the voltage on Vs and Vo, the red interference almost goes away, but the picture becomes very washed out. I've checked the voltage on the power supply board and Vs and Vo are both within spec with ripple of less than 0.6V on Vs and 0.2V on Vo. I'm leaning toward blaming the Zsus board since it's responsible for brightness levels, but the service manual says to look at the control or logic boards for picture noise. Can you tell me how to determine which board for sure? Also, there is an adjustment pot on the Zsus daughter board. Is that a brightness level? I don't want to adjust it without knowing. All the electrolytics on the Zsus board check ok with an ESR meter.
