    Toshiba 32AV502RZ LCD flickering/double image

I am playing with a Toshiba 32AV502RZ that has a flickering LCD. all inputs including menu. kind of a double image look to it.

the previous owner ripped the coaxial input off of the main board. There does not seem to be any physical dammage to the board and I have removed the RF input case from the main board. I plan on using HDMI input anyway

as I am typing this. it stopped doing the flicker...

    here's a video. http://youtu.be/nNSug8g5Q2s

I will follow up with more info

Bad panel - tab bonds. May or may not be fixable.

also noticed that the vertical spacing of the double image gets less and less as the TV warms up. after an hour there is no spacing left and tv runs normal.

are we still thinking bad LCD panel??

running now for 24 hours. no issues. but if I power off I will get double image for the first hour or so..

              what could be the issue?

              thank you

Re: Toshiba 32AV502RZ LCD flickering/double image

Tab-Bonding is a problem on many sets....

The thin Kapton film connections from the glass of the panel to the PCB along the top of the panel come adrift.

Sometimes a temporary repair can be made by using double-sided foam-tape between the frame and the Kapton film where it attaches the glass and where it attaches the PCB.
--Its not a proper repair, more a 'botch' but better than nothing, and all that can be done.
There's no other way of fixing these issues.
