I found this on Craigslist for relatively cheap. I was wondering if this picture appears to be a bad con or bad panel. Any input would be appreciated.

If I were to have to guess, From the ones I have worked on in the past. I would say panel, most likely the tabs are separating. Again, just a guess. I have seen issues with TCon, and Main produce some funky distortions too. Further testing would be needed to confirm. But if you are buying tv's that need repairs. I would stay away from screens that look like that. IMO, good luck with it if you do.Comment

Thanks for the response. I've definitely been staying away from the ones with thin, vertical lines (tab bond failure ). This one seemed like it might be a tcon since the distortion was throughout the panel. I was just crossing my fingers for an easy diagnosis and fix it/sell it for a profit. I probably still could've sold the boards on eBay and made a few bucks but I think it sold today.Comment
