My soldering iron resembles that of a iron thats used to stamp burns into the ass of a cow, and if i remove it again the board around the bridge might be destroyed beyond repair so im a bit scared to take it out unless its the only way

it only blew the 5 am fuse in the plug this time and not the one on board, i was looking and forgive me i dont know what some of them are but if the green thing above power connector or resistor or the white box marked 330n K things that connect straight after fuse line between live and negative, do they fail often and allow current to short out?

If you power it up without the bridge installed does the fuse still blow?

Ok so ive taked the bridge out and tested it and its fine, however it still blew the fuse. I then started testing all the diodes so i disconnected them all and checked all of them and all again seem fine :/

Thinking the same thing, good job I ordered 2 now when I turn it around , I Will be edging away from the plug socket as I knock it in with a brush pole expecting a loud bang lol

Better test it again when you take it out, in case you have cocked sorry cooked it.

Yep thats the fuse blowing, including the one in plug lead

I thought about the light bulb but its something i couldnt get my head around and the shop round here only sells some nasty looking things that look like there made for offices and mine are led :/

T rectifier oh cock! its in wrong way round! i put it in writing facing forwards instead of cut corner to the left lmao! Hangs head in shame!

I will turn it around in a couple of hours when i get back and let you know

Thanks for that :P i feel a right Noob now

You could start checking for full shorts. on all the big components. Perhaps start with the
3 diodes at the end of the board furthest from the mains socket.
I would still consider making up a light bulb.
You did get the bridge in the right way round? and test it again.
Perhaps a clear picture of the back of the board would help us

    Great. Got it

So it is FP801S that is blowing? (6.3AH)

Is there a BN44-###### number printed on the power board? To look up schematic.

Okay, new parts have come, new bridge rectifier and little blue cap along with a bunch of new fuses.

Fitted them all in well and gave it a whirl, standing well back expecting another bang pop fizzle, and nothing happened, so i checked for current and theres no power coming in, suspecting blown fuse in plug i changed it and still nothing, checked the fuses and all had blown again. So i checked the soldering and lines for making sure theres nothing shorted out and all is clear and im stuck what i should check next

    Any ideas for me?

Yes! I saw this the other day while looking a bit more in depth i just passed on it thinking maybe its different for saying 1000v instead of 1kv when they are both the same thing :/

Looks fine that one it was just covered in glue lol The one i thought you were talking of is the lil blue disc cap just underneath the big cap

Samsung UE46ES8000 Blown fuse but no other signs of short
    by jesterace
Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the...

    Samsung UN55JU650DF network/streaming problem
    by howardc64
Fixed a 9 year old UN55JU650 by replacing backlight. Original backlight LED was still working after 27k! hours but terrible picture of course. Few LEDs were out, 5-6 lens fell off (bright white spots) and another few popped off with slightest force. Surviving LEDs were all slightly blue so picture has a blue tint.

This TV runs older Tizen OS (updated to latest version, see pic) and have problems with network (wifi or ethernet) connection. The Tizen UI frequently switch to coax input source while changing content sources. . If no good signal (coax not connected, no prior antenna/cable...
