    Buffer IC replacement, Samsung PN50B450B1D

I picked up a Samsung PN50B450B1D this morning. It has the LJ92-01601A Y-main/buffer combo. The bottom buffer IC is blown. One transitor is failed shorted. I've ordered the repair kit from ShopJimmy. Hopefully, it'll work for me. Once I get the IC in place, what kind of glue should I use to cover the pins? Will hot glue work?

I would use high-voltage insulating epoxy. Hot glue is quite brittle under heat and might not work well.

Right on. I'll look for a tube. I didn't know it existed. Thanks Tom.

One more question. Can I test the tv without sealing the buffer or will it likely arc across the IC? I'd like to make sure everything's working before applying the epoxy.

I have tested without sealing the buffer ic many times. I use grey permetex silicone
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

                I've used this electronic-grade, non-corrosive silicone:
