what does this look like tcon or psu or both TOSHIBA 32BV500B

hi i apologize in advance if the pics are poor quality
these were from a Toshiba 32BV500B the picture starts off distorted and the distortion increases over time the lines increase there are horizontal and vertical lines in case it isn't clear from the pics
i noticed there were a few bulging caps on the psu
also when you press your finger to the screen and run it across it leaves a trace for a few seconds
any help would be much appreciated
    thanks

also would it be better to replace the entire power supply or just the defective caps?
I'm aware it would be a lot cheaper to take the 2nd course of action but I've heard that caps must be matched for best results

This is not a real Toshiba, it is a TV produced by Vestel, which also produce other crap under names like Technika, Goodmans, Bush, Alba, Sharp, Hitachi, JVC, Sanyo, etc. (Which are also the same TVs inside, all rubbish.) It is most likely experiencing panel failure which would not be repairable. Power supply would not cause this.

Agree, from my extremely limited experience, this looks like a tab bonding / panel issue. Sometimes you can "fix" this, and at least delay the failure by a bit.
