Hi every one .Yes I have one of them sets with sound and no picture. I seen on other threads the y-sus and buffers go bad. I sent mine to that guy on e-bay . and he e-mailed instructions to get panel up and running . I was surprised what he wrote, But it makes perfect sense. So here is what he wrote, and I hope it saves a few boards. 1. Please just install the Y-sus without the buffers when you first start up the TV. If you don't see any green light turn on from the Y-sus then you can turn off/ unplug the pwr cord and install the buffers. There are two reasons for this issue:
a. The flat panel has been out for a while. Thus it needs time to get a stabled voltage
b. The white ribbon cable needs to seat in rightly; Otherwise the voltage will hit double, making the mosfets + buffer chips go bad instantly
---- Consequently, you can save the buffers.
2. If you don't see any green light comes which means the Y-sus is fine, you can turn off/ unplug the power cord and install the buffers.
--- We tested them out and they work fine on our testing TV. Hopefully thing will go right at your end as well. Thanks.
