    Samsung Plasma Va voltage

I was having a problem with my P63C8000 Plasma where on mostly white/light screens, I was getting a band of purple sparkles across the middle of the tv. Not being a TV repairman (but having great GoogleFu), I went to measure the Va/Vs voltages. The Vs voltage was 208 (209 specified), and the Va was 21.5 (25 specified). I figured the Va was the problem, so I tried to adjust it. I was only able to adjust it to 22.5-23. This didn't fix the sparkles problem. I then adjusted the Vs and got rid of the sparkles at a 210 voltage (one higher then specified).

So, even though the sparkles are gone, I'm concerned about the Va voltage not being high enough. The adjustment screw is set somewhere in the middle...if I adjust it either all the way left or right, it actually is lower then the 22.5-23 that I have now. It also fluctuates quite a bit while testing.

So, anyone know if this is a problem? Are one of my boards going bad? Anything else I should look at?

    Thanks!!

    Re: Samsung Plasma Va voltage

Va should be around 55 to 60V, not 21~25V.
You should never increase Va up. Vs only is adjusted for pink bands.

Your right, I meant that it is supposed to be 55, but it is only 52.5-53. So I shouldn't be concerned that it is too low?

        Unlikely to cause your fault.
