Hi all I have just picked up this set up. The problem I have is it that the green light is on at the switch but no screen (no picture). Its had a new backlight inverter board fitted so I have sound but no picture I have voltage to the inverter 12. something volts. Could it mean the T-con board is duff, the voltage I was getting at the T-con board was about 5 volts even when set is turned on cheers for any help in advance

Re: Toshiba 23wlt56b
ok bottom centre of the board there is a medium sized cap just above that the words say s+3.3v
+5v so i presume when its on standby it reads 3.3v and then when the set is turned on and the screen powers up it reads 5v. so could that mean the stand by cap has blown am i right thinking thatLast edited by joehezzer; 07-03-2013, 11:38 AM.

Re: Toshiba 23wlt56b
This is actually a Vestel set. Rebranded garbage... Ugh.
For most regulators, the output voltage won't vary in standby, so the +5V and S+3.3V may be separate indicators for different regulators. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Heh, generally not too bad to repair, but they're really badly engineered and designed, and they fail a lot more than they should. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

But, to try and see if the inverter board is the problem:
1. Test the resistance of the secondaries of the inverter transformer(s).
2. Also look for any fuse(s) on the inverter board, and if there are any, test them to see if they are blown.Muh-soggy-knee
