    finally good news,

replaced both the transistor and ic,

    it works!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

sounds good, hope it works out. adding fresh leaded solder to the pins will help to get it off faster since they use lead free which I dislike.

sorry didnt understood you before ,

its Q1 on the pci Card.

ill try to find some flux and get it out later tonight or tommorow.

hope to come back with good news.

No, on the pci donor board. I just want to be sure it's a transistor and not a diode but if you're sure it's a transistor I'd go with it. The sideways number is just going to be a production stamp, the 2A will be the mark.

Q9 as you can see in the pic ive added.

(thank you for the tip by the way :-) )

I don't have hot air, I use 2 irons and heat all 3 pins at once. If what you found is SMD it should be the same size I expect. Was the location on the board marked as if it was a transistor like Q___ or PQ ___?

OK i listened to your advice and, looked at my junk boards that i stashed long time ago.

found similar transistor 2A 3 on the side. from a pci lan card.

    should it fit?

i think that the are pretty gentle,

with temp should i use on the hot air?

or should i work with the soldering iron?

Any MMBT3906 in a SOT23 package. Do you have any old dead boards you could steal from? A chance you will find one otherwise you may have to buy a lot more than you need.

What do you think all those datasheets are?

2N3906 sounds right for a driver transistor. There's no particular performance requirement there.

I'm confident 2A will be what I posted, but see what everyone else comes back with.

    im sure of the writing.
never swapped such a transistor before, so i dont even know how to search for
    specs.
added a picture for more reference.

a schematic would be of help, even if i have to pay for it.

I'm thinking could be one of these, watch out for the different package sizes.

Could it be the 1 is a "-" One of the NXP sheets has - 2A where - = Hong Kong

    Photo?

    more bad news,

the ic chips arrived. when looked at the psu, i saw a tiny smd transistor broken Q9.
(had to put the pcb over bouble wrap, big mistake!)

all that is written is: 2.A 1 ->the 1 is on its side.

i dont know what to do,

how can i know its specs.

Use wick on the surface mount stuff. Don't use wick on most through hole, it works but is slow.

Just to clarify, you have ordered that l6562d chip already from China, yeah?If you want to check the old IC, I would first check that the Vcc pin is not shorted to one of the other pins... But if you have already ordered the new chip, I probably wouldnt bother..

You are better off using a soldering iron and a solder sucker (seen above) than that solder wick. I find that solder wick very frustrating to use, and time consuming.. Just heat the solder and zap it with the solder sucker and you will get a clean result..

With regard to the bulb tester we were talking about earlier, I posted my variation of the bulb tester on this thread.. (Be conscious that I am in Ireland so the colour of the wires may be different). https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...855#post332855 Be interested in your opinion on it too, Bud.

I decided not to be tempted and run it without replacing the IC.
I invested too much time and money on this TV, to burn all the parts again,
(and its not my lucky day today anyway :-( so the odds where against me)
I ordered online (thank you god for Ebay), 2 pcs from china for 3.79 dollars.

budm i looked at the datasheet, im just starting to learn the real stuff of electronics at college, but i still dont have a clue about most of the stuff there :-))

is there any info that i could use to check whether its good or bad?

buy the way how am i supposed to get it out anyway?
getting parts out of this PCB is really hard,
(the soldier wont wick out, only after a few tries with fresh soldier)
i have ATTEN 8586 rework station, with HOT air.
    (which temp should i use)

You should download the data sheet of the IC so you can see how it is used and connected, it will be real close to what you have in your board.
