I just tried to update the firmware on a Sony LCD TV and it apparently killed the TV. It got almost through the process and then just displays the Bravia logo. The amber picture led and red standby led stay on (no flashing). The only way to turn it off is by unplugging. There's no response to the remote. There's also no response to the reset sequence. I was updating because two of the HDMI ports stopped working. Can a failed firmware upgrade corrupt the eeprom with no way to recover? Does the main board have to be replaced? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

It seems I tried everything, my last idea is that the eeprom or firmware (or both) may be corrupt.
I'm not able to find eeprom and firmware dumps in open sources.
Hoping someone here has access to closed forums or manufacturer's service center resources and can help get those dumps?

I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a recent experience I had with a laptop that had a Type-C Port issue, specifically related to a PD (Power Delivery) controller problem. After replacing the damaged PD controller chip with a new one I purchased from AliExpress, the laptop now charges properly and negotiates power as expected, allowing the device to power up. I've replaced this chip twice just in case.

Hello, My head unit developed strange behaviors so I ran the built-in diagnostic package which returned "No EEProm". The service manual says there is no EEProm connected. I approached Pioneer and they said to swap out the DSP board. All said and good but the DSP board is $860 USD. I am hoping someone can help me
1). Understand the schematic and check the connections between the EEProm and DSP
2). Check the functionality of the EEProm
I don't know if this is the unit's problem but it's a place to start.
