I bought a Aoyue int474A+ desoldering/soldering station from Amazon.com
When I bought it, the cost was about $110 shipped. I can't imagine desoldering an IPM without it. I heat up the IPM's with a hot air gun for about 5 minutes (both top and bottom), then I work the magic with the desoldering station. Works well.

I wouldn't recommend Aoyue though, maybe I'm just unlucky, but the Aoyue 968 I got was a piece of rubbish. Had software bugs, too. For a soldering iron! Software bugs!

well the x tronic that i was going to order is out of stock they wont be in for a week or 2
