Samsung PN42C450, CLICKING NOISE.

Hi
In this set , clicking relay noise from tv when turn on. some times led blinks 5 times.
I found a IGBT TRA. (3 nos. ) on Y-Drive board.
My question is , do i have to check or replace anything before i replaced new IGBT TRA.??

The blinking LED is normal for any Samsung when powering up.

The most common failure on this set is the X-main. Try unplugging that and seeing if the set powers on. It should work but have a dim barely lit screen with some picture visible.

Thanks for reply.
i found 3 IGBT Transistors short on Y-DRIVE Board.
Before i replaced new Transistors , what should i have to check.
Even if i disconnect a cable from Y-DRIVE BOARD ,ANOTHER END GOES TO POWER SUPPLY,, Still i have clicking noise. But as i said ,i found shorted transistors on Y-DRIVE BOARD.

Oh OK. The Y-main can also fail on this chassis, I have not seen it before though.

You should check the buffers for shorts. If you post a picture I can show you where to test.

I really need a closer shot of the green board on the left hand side, in focus, at least 1280x1024 pixels, better if bigger.

If i can post a pic of the buffer , would you be able to point out where should be tested still ? I'm attempting to diagnose a similar problem with my set.
