    Toshiba Regza 52" LCD

    Toshiba Regza 52xf550u LCD 52inch.
vertical color bars at one end and distorted color at the other. there is sporadic horizontal hairlike "noise" in the endzones occasionally.
imagine the left side 6"or so forms and "endzone" much like a football field, and the right "endzone" is about 4" wide.
the distortion remains within the endzone rectangle in the form of tiny horizontal lines that are hairlike dimension. very thin lines that make like
a horizontal rain effect where the intended image is still visable but just having some bad "weather".
the distortion changes to VERTICAL thicker color bars where there is no longer any sign of the intended image within the endzone , only the vertial colors and
    sometimes it is blacked out.
the left endzone errata is steady only for moments and changes shape and color often sometimes accompanied by other glitching but always stays PERFECTLY within
    its established rectangular "endzone" boundary.
I would say the right smaller endzone area of distortion is somewhat the same only not as severe and spends much time as only a color shade that consistently
darkens the colors of the otherwise proper intended image and experiences some but to lesser extent the glitchy fine horizontal "rain".

the area between the endzones and all other aspects of the set are working normally. was watching DREW on The Price is Right a while ago.

saw a you tube video that described re-seating the t-con ribbons so i did that to the two (of 4) outer ribbons. see no real change in symptoms.

made in 2008,i found a guy saying that all the panels in those TVs
made that year are failing this way.
I believe i heard the term "tab bonds".

Can you post a picture? Tab bonds can sometimes be repaired.

Of the fault. Or a video, if it's an animated fault.

That's a bad panel if I ever saw one. Likely the tab bonds at the top of the LCD. It may be fixable, it may not. See this video from someone else about tab bond issues (vaguely similar fault):

              Re: Toshiba Regza 52" LCD

yes, it does seem to be the tab bonding on the top corners.
is there any other links, guides, discussion on this repair or the defect itself?
anyone have luck getting help from Toshiba since it appears to be inherently defective?
where does the line start for a class action?

Call Toshiba up, saying that you have this problem, you are aware it is a common default and you wonder what can be done.
