i bet this is the trouble.
looking forward to opening it up to find out!
seems silly to make a rigid connection between the two board like that.
any flex in the chassis or any approaching angle while joining them would stress the connector. what happened to good ole flexible wire?Leave a comment:

i bought the $10 jumper style controller.
my research says its not safe to try it until the LVDS cable pinouts are verified.
have no idea how to do that.
the power relays click on and off unless i unplug the bottom right connector of the
audio board. it connects to the third connector from top left of the tuner board.
if i unplug that cable the backlight immediatley comes on with no input or buttonpress with seems a full glow around the edges. no button or controls seem to work at all.

question about the LCD controllers that connect a panel to your VGA port.
theres some "universal" controllers on ebay and other places that are standalone and bypass all your existing boards except i guess for the tcon.
i got a free 37" 2006 model Philips TV that was wacked by lightening.
took out the guys modem and electric stove also.
rather than try to fix itwhich i'm not very good at. thought i would try one of these controllers.
However i cannot find one that lists the exact panel and a couple emails to sellers has not been... -

i am shimming a sony 46" Sony KDL ? 4100? with the TAB BOND detaching problem.
this is the 2nd repair i have done like this however i find that the sony seems tougher.
i have had 90% success eliminating the lines but the far top left tab has some issue that resists complete success.
i can achieve full contact with very firm pinpoint pressure with my fingertip.
however locating a pinpoint shim on that point seems to just cause the problem to jump over a tiny bit.
as you may have guessed the broad shim across the whole tab joint does not work either.

thank you for the help with my last tv. it was indeed the tab bonds.
i used some weather strip foam and duct tape to support that joint. lol.

just to follow up.
that blur problem was not an electronic issue.
the heat from the bad tuner board damaged the tint film on the
glass so i had to remove the film.

Toshiba Regza 52xf550u LCD 52inch.
vertical color bars at one end and distorted color at the other. there is sporadic horizontal hairlike "noise" in the endzones occasionally.
imagine the left side 6"or so forms and "endzone" much like a football field, and the right "endzone" is about 4" wide.
the distortion remains within the endzone rectangle in the form of tiny horizontal lines that are hairlike dimension. very thin lines that make like
a horizontal rain effect where the intended image is still visable but just having some... -

Sharp Aquos 42 LCD model LC-42D62U.
no video or audio.
steady on green light in front. two red LEDS on the main board, the right one under a heat spreader blinks once while left one blinks 30 times.
A power relay clicks on/off and the cycle repeats. 3 cycles total and the red lights go off leaving only a steady green on front.
i have no clue..hoping for some help.
