    Magnavox 42mf931d/37 no vset

Hi all. I picked up another magnavox. I am fluent in this and it's brother Philips internals. I have rebuilt many ysus and buffers on this model series before. But this one is wierd and throwing me for a loop. It turns on black screen. Then white blotches of dots show up in sporadic areas. Anyway buffers test good and no shorts on the ymain. Off the power supply there is no vset. And vscan is about 17v low as well as ve is low too. Va and vs normal But no vset whatsoever. With ymain disconnected no voltages at all except vs and va which are at normal range I'm stumped. Disconnecting buffers does not change anything but I now cannot hear ysus making noise anymore. Buffers connected ysus ipm makes noise.
    Your thoughts?

Btw with zsus disconnected ysus and buffers connected makes no change but I can hear ysus working. Only time ysus is quiet is when buffers are disconnected.

      Re: Magnavox 42mf931d/37 no vset

      These voltages are interesting.

      Vs 205 normal
      Va 70 normal
      Vscan -173 should be -190
      Ve 63 should be 87
Vset -300mv essentially no voltage output.

If y main power disconnected I only have vs and va. Of course I believe this is normal due to logic board signal off causing power supply not to provide. I thought this series ps lj44-00092c still provided all voltages if ymain disconnected.

Oddly ve goes 0v when zmain disconnected. Guess it needs the load to startup voltages.
I'm stumped why all voltages besides va and vs are low with vset missing.

Now I'm almost positive the ysus and buffers are ok.

Well I got it up and running. It turned out to be a blown ic561 on the power supply. Also shorted zd565. I've seen this and had this problem before on another magnavox same model. The vscan is still not adjustable. It's stuck at -173v where it needs to be -190v. The varistor doesn't make a difference. I already swapped it pc565 (optocoupler) and still the same. If I remember I think on the last problem I had pc505 was bad its linked to shorted ic561.

Ok pc505 changed. Still no response from vscan varistor. Still sitting at-173vdc. I ohmed the varistor and its ok. What else besides a photo coupler and a varistor can cause the voltage to not be adjustable?

LG 50PC56 keep burn Buffers Boards

Hi, I’m new to the forum and this is my first post, so thank you in advance to having me, I have the fallowing problem, could someone please help

I have this LG 50PC56 which not display image on screen
I have already change Y-SUS and buffers 2 times! But this TV keep burning my buffers boards!
When I do install the new Buffers board I been able to see only the top half part of the screen for about 10 min, and then it blow up again! The IC get very hot and I saw some smoke come out from it, so now I have another set of buffers burn out
My question it is: I disconnect...

LG 42PC3 buffer output doesn't follow YSUS
              by legg
LG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
              All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.

Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V

Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between

A1706 820-00239 - Works, but sometimes shuts off when the charger is disconnected
              by baglaivlad
              Hello everybody!

Have in work A1706 820-00239 model. Originally no power, shorted PPBUS_G3H because of corroded C6403, C6404. Some water damage around this components, but nothing major.

After replacing this capacitors the laptop came back to work, I reinstalled MacOS and had no issues until I started to test Type-C ports. Sometimes the laptop shuts off immediately when some action with Type-C ports performed (charger disconnected or USB device inserted/disconnected). I checked Type-C port flexes, they are okay, but I cleaned them anyway. I can't see any signs of liquid...

LED TV Boot loop - UE40F6500SB

              Hi,

              First post...

I have this TV, which was working, then suddenly would not turn on. It would get the clicking relay then flash up the screen for less than a second, off for a second then on again. Removing the plug the relay continues to click on and off for a few cycles, which I don't think it did before.

Left it a few months, then finally got round to taking the back off, and it worked as it should. So I tested various bits and all was well. Then turned it on again, and back to the clicking relay.

I disconnected the main board from the power...
