What's the fix for it though? Would it be worth or possible to fix the old board or should i not even bother.
Possibly a cold solder joint or intermittent component - could be tricky. Glad you found the fix...

Alright sounds good.. I'll test out what you told me to on Thursday and hope I can get this thing working by the weekend. Will keep you posted. Thanks!

Possibly. I couldn't guarantee it. I do have a spare main board for the 42PC1D; that's probably the only other cause, and likely to be compatible.

It's a very difficult problem - not one I'm well experienced with. I hope you can fix it.

On the thick multi-way power connector which goes to either sustain board - the boards on the left and right of the TV. There should be a pin marked Vs. Post a pic if unsure.

It certainly sounds like it. With your meter, can you check the high voltage Vs (should be around 190V when running.) If it starts falling THEN the TV clicks off (you should hear a relay click or two) it sounds like a cold joint or controller shut down to me.

If it shuts off real quick when you turn that on, then somehow the PSU is incapable of supplying all the power, or something is overheating. Possibly a cold solder joint somewhere.

Have you found the White Wash option yet?

Look under MENU -> OPTION -> ISM METHOD -> WHITE WASH

If you can now get the menu to stay on can you find a factory reset option?

Do you have a HDMI source? It could be a firmware bug causing it to crash with some video inputs.

TV shuts off after a short period of time when there is a active signal.
The TV didn't turn off by itself for over an hour when there was no active signal.
There doesn't seem to be any bad caps on the power board.
Creating a bridge as mentioned earlier on the power board did not fix the problem.
I still have no idea which board is causing the problem!

Let me know if you guys need any more information. Thanks
I didn't realise it didn't shut down with no active signal. If you press MENU with no active signal (to get up the control panel) does it shut down quicker?
