    Re: Hisense 50P6

I uninstalled all my apps that do zips, rars etc, and then downloaded it, and it saved as the file.

    Hopefully this looks right?

I think you are looking at the auto update part, the manual part is way down the list there but doesn't go into great detail.

It's just that your computer perceives files with the pkg extension as rar (you installed, checked the box so that these files can only be opened by the rar archiver).
If you need to quickly do this, then try on another computer.

If I download it, it turns into this zip folder

If I extract then, it just comes back with all those folders again.

My apology for not understanding how to simply grab that one file

    HELP....
Rename it (extension .rar to .pkg) to get the file : usb_AA6501U.pkg

1- usb formatted as FAT32 MBR mode
2- the first file with format .pkg dont extract it. just copy it on the stick
3- you may need to rename the file upgrade_loader.pkg in case didnt start
4- no need 60 second. as son you press power on RC and keep press plug the tv in wall
5-insert the USB at USB Ver2 ( black socket at the side of the TV

    Re: Hisense 50P6

I have tried all those suggestions that you see on google for resetting the tv...eg, hold down power button, disconnect etc....none of them does anything and all I am left with is that the telly turns on, goes to these lines, and responds to nothing other than the power on/off button on the remote.

I am using a Harmony remote, and Logitech sent me an exact file to synch onto it.

The file on the usb stick simply won't boot.

Have I reached the stage where I need to give in?

    Thanks

    Sorry for the long delay.

I got hold of the firmware from Hisense Australia, transferred it to the USB stick and inserted into the USB port of the Hisense

Held down the power button for 60 seconds, then turned on at the PowerPoint, held power on/off for another 60 seconds, however, all that keeps happening is that the screen turns on displaying these lines again

Tried many times, but it just won't boot into the USB update

The diffence now though, is that the power button no longer does the 17 blinks, and now does 4 as it turns on and keeps showing the lines, with the lines slowly shifting to the left of the tv as you look at it

    Re: Hisense 50P6

    Hi,

I have just received the email. with the updated firmware.

    Instructions are:

The software provided is the latest version available. It should only be used for updating
HISENSE television units with matching Model and Serial number.
    Instructions:

    1. When TV is on, unplug Power Cord on the back of TV.
    2. Plug in USB stick with Upgrade Firmware into TV USB port
    3. Hold the POWER button on remote control and at the same time turn on the
TV by connecting the Power Cord back. Release POWER button on remote
control only when you see ‘Software Updating' on TV.
    4. TV will then update automatically, and restart when update complete
Important: Do not interrupt the update; do not use the remote control and
keep the unit ON all the time.
    5. Remove the USB memory key.
    6. Press Quick Setup button on remote, go to
Settings -> Support- >Restore To Factory
Default. Then follow the installation guide to finish setting up the TV.

    My problems...

    Ala
    3) with no remote, I figure I just use the sets main power button?
    6) No remote to press "Quick setup,Settings -> Support- >Restore To Factory Default.

I do have a Harmony 300 remote, so I went to Logitech, entered the Hisense 50P6 info , and it located a code, I downloaded it onto the remote, but it does not have any assignments for buttons....
MENU, QUICK SETUP, FAST ACCESS TO ALL APPLICATIONS, HOME.

The original remote model from Hisense is EN2B27.

I have raised a ticket number with Logitech requesting if any other codes they have for Hisense tv's have these remote functions, and am awaiting their response.

    Thank you.
