First of all, thank you for taking a look in this thread. I have used the search function to find similar issues on this forum but I believe I have a unique issue on my hands.
I own a Philips 50PFP5332D/37 Plasma which I have had the main board replaced twice under warranty. Now that I am out of warranty a new issue has come up. The TV has power and actually displays menu screens perfectly but none of my inputs work. I have tried all component, HDMI, USB, and coax inputs and there is no picture or sound.
I have tried the following to identify the root cause but I am no expert.
1) Unplug TV and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in.
2) Looked for any flashing LEDs anywhere on the TV. I still had the back cover on and did not see anything flashing in any color.
3) I have let the TV sit unplugged for a few days and the result after plugging it in is still the same.
4) Finally I have opened the back to check for any visible damage to capacitors or cables. Nothing there either.
I called Philips CS and they are not aware of any similar problems and since I am out of warranty they offered me some refurbished TVs and the phone number for a local service shop. They referred me to the same service shop that fixed my TV the previous times and I am not very pleased with their service. So I am coming to the experts on this forum for any thoughts on the issue.
Let me know if you require some pics of the boards or anything else to disect this issue. Once again, thanks for checking this out.
Regards,
BSH
