Re: Canon scam: is there a useful hack to scan WITHOUT ink ? (Pixma MG 2550s)
First of all my friend , lesson taught : never throw something unless proven useless ..And yes , there are many workouts , like writing a software or reverse engineering , etc ..But I think is pointless due to time waste and costs ..

Re: Canon scam: is there a useful hack to scan WITHOUT ink ? (Pixma MG 2550s)
so is there a workaround? a part of the firmware that could be changed or something
when the old cartridges went bad I threw them away and I dont want to buy new ones just to scan (and the closest commerce that sells this sh aint even close)

Yes . that button , the button with the red circle & triangle..And another yes to your logic , the Canon has to detect the cartridges , unfortunately ..

To reset , press and hold “Stop” for 5 seconds. The Alarm should clear and the printer will allow you to scan once again.
nb. it's not just that the printer's without ink but it's also without ink cartridges (the 2 slots are empty) I reckon your method maybe works when there's already cartridges in the printerLast edited by Urizen; 12-26-2022, 07:30 PM.

Canon scam: is there a useful hack to scan WITHOUT ink ? (Pixma MG 2550s)
title says it all
I've a Pixma mg2550s printer/scanner All In One
when I try to scan but there's no ink cartridge it gives an "error code 2,140,21"
scanning requires no ink so it's obvious this is a scam basically an artificial block they put in place for $ reasons
so how do I bypass this? is there a hack? maybe a fixed firmware
nb. got this new Pixma at a bargain price but I defo wont be buying another Canon product if there's no fix for this "feature"Tags: None
