    AC Overvoltage

What's the maximum continuously voltage a quality PSU, with APFC can take? I mean, the PSU manufactures usually states that they can handle +/- 10% of the nominal input voltage - 100-240V - which would translate into 90-264V.

Well, an UPS is supposed to protect the PSU against under and overvoltage so, If 264V is the maximum safe figure for PSUs, why APC allows 288-294V on one of their UPS models before transfer to battery? The unit I'm talking about:

This information is in the manual and it also allows the user to select 300V before transfering to battery power.

This UPS has only boost mode voltage regulation which means it will only compensate for low voltages.

Is it safe allowing 294V, by default in this UPS, reach your PSU?
