    Gigabyte GE-P585A-C2 ATX PSU Schematic

Anyone have a schematic or some info? +5Vsb popped the FSQ0270R IC on the primary.
There are 2 smd resistors feeding the Vcc of the IC. One I can see the value is 204 but the other one popped and I can't see the value. In my experience it should also be a 204 but I would like to make sure first.

    Help will be appreciated.

Normally 2 Mega does not burnt out so easily . Watch the datasheet of the IC, I think it will be helpful for you .

Nope the datasheet doesn't help much.

Already 2 Mega is used for voltage dropping . Another 2 Mega is not needed there . I think that blown resistor could be a fusing resistor of 0 or 1 ohm . Can you draw a schematic for +5VSB Primary side .

Look at this different PSU schematic . It is built with another IC FSDM311 which is less power than yours but same PIN configuration . This FSDM3111 is also provided by FAIRCHILD . I think you are guessing wrong PIN as Vcc . I hope this schematic will help you to find out right Vcc PIN of your IC .

Is your PSU internally looks like this ..... (Image attached below)

Yes that is how the PSU looks internally.
The resistor that is damaged comes directly from the large primary capacitor to the small 5v transformer.

Then off that line a 204 resistor feeds pin 5 of the IC.

Here are pics. R44 is faulty I believe. I scratched on it too much so numbers are gone now.

Still have you not realized what is R44 value ? Your circuit is totally similar to that schematic of FSDM311 . Look at the schematic . What is the R44 Value ? It is 4R7 . That means it is a resistor of 4.7Ω . It is nothing but a fusing resistor . And PIN 5 is Vstr , not Vcc . PIN 2 is Vcc .

R44 has blown that means you have a short circuit in the 5VSB Primary side . May be FSQ0270R faulty itself . Also Find out which components have blown there along with the IC .
