    Wanted: Circuits for 400W+ ATX PSU with active PFC

    I am after some circuits for 400W+ ATX power supplies with active PFC, because I am trying to determine if it is possible to convert a non-PFC power supply to an active PFC supply.

    Anyone finding such circuits would be appreciated.
    My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

      Well, it is not that hard. I suggest to lock at St`s or Infinion`s webside. They are producing those A-PFC controlers, and have very detailed datasheets and ready circuits too.

      The A-PFC part is like a regulated DC supply. After that , you can mount any SMPS circuit, wich can operate from that. The only concern is the higher voltage, wich is needed to archive the ideal power consumption graph. You have just to stripe the usuall voltage doubler circuit and replace it by your A-pfc ones.

          I found that converting a power supply to active PFC was easier than I thought.

                  Not yet, but I am in the design stage.
