So I have this 10 + year old Cambridge Sound works DTT2500 audio system which I have been using on one of my computers, everything was working fine up until a few months ago when I started to get this hum from my speakers. It has a Big Brick Power Adapter So I open it up and see a somewhat bulged 6800uF 25V cap! So I was wanting to replace it and while I was trying to pry the PCB board open from the adapter I missed a screw and broke the PCB in 3 pieces.
What should I do to power my speakers now? Could I buy a Laptop Power Adapter with same output ratting and slightly modify the connector to use it?
The information
240v ~ 50hz
Output: 15V == 3A
SO I am guessing its 45Watts? What do I do now? Use a laptop power brick that say 15v --3A ....or....?
