Hello everyone,
I've been working on a bunk Ideapad 5 from Lenovo 15IIL05 - NM-C681.
It had been going intermittent on its boots for the last several months. Finally gave up the ghost this week and I've been trying to diagnose the board.
So far I've determined it will give a power on light with battery, but not on charger, either USB C or standard 19v. Weirdly, the machine will charge when plugged into either source, but will not allow the board to power on directly.
This symptom leads me to believe it could be a possible short somewhere between the charging circuit and power on circuit, but I have no way to tell. I am looking into performing a voltage injection test on the board, but have not found any directly shorted rails as far as I can tell.
It is not the daughter board as I had one to swap in place, but no dice.
Any help with this issue or any schematics or boardview would be greatly helpful! Thanks!
